A good moisturizer is the cornerstone of an effective beauty routine. Choosing the right one ensures visible results for your skin. From moisturizers for oily skin to face creams for sensitive and dehydrated skin, our experts guide you to make the best choice for your skin.
Moisturizing cream: your shield against dehydration
Your skin is made up of 70% water. Without this vital molecule, its beauty and youthfulness gradually fade. That's why hydration should be your number one skincare priority. Yet, dehydration is the most common skin concern.
This phenomenon is due to an alteration of your hydrolipidic film. Indeed, exogenous and/or endogenous factors can damage your skin barrier (pollution, sun, overly abrasive cleansing, etc.). As a result, your skin is no longer able to properly regulate its evaporation. It gradually becomes dehydrated, resulting in discomfort, tightness, and a loss of radiance.
Dehydration is only a temporary condition of your skin. It can be corrected in a few days by applying a suitable moisturizing cream.
A moisturizing cream isn't meant to "hydrate" your skin, at least not in the strictest sense. Only the water you drink can do that. Once absorbed by your body, it diffuses from the dermis up to the different layers of the epidermis.
When water reaches your stratum corneum, it is trapped there by water-binding agents naturally present in the skin. The hydrolipidic film that covers the skin's surface, in turn, slows down water evaporation.
Whether it's a cream for combination or dry skin, the primary role of your moisturizer is to prevent dehydration. To achieve this, it fulfills two essential functions:

ITS ACTIVE COMPOSITION
Hydration is never an end in itself. Your skin is unique and has specific needs related to its nature and environment. Therefore, a cream for combination skin and a cream for dehydrated, sensitive skin will not contain the same active ingredients. For example, dehydrated skin prone to blemishes and exposed to pollution requires a formula that is not only hydrating, but also antioxidant, purifying, and brightening.
ITS INGREDIENTS
At Laboté, we formulate your moisturizing cream by incorporating active ingredients that precisely target your skin's problems.
Medicinal plant extracts: we favour aloe vera and fucus for their moisturizing and regenerating properties. Virgin vegetable oils: these are excipients rich in nutrients. They strengthen the skin's lipid barrier and transport active molecules into the epidermis (marula, camellia, etc.). The other active ingredients in our moisturizing cream: glycerin, amino acids, squalane act as humectants and promote water retention in cells.
ITS GALENIC
Moisturizing cream for combination skin and moisturizing cream for oily skin: opt for a light oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion. For your custom-made Laboté cream, we recommend the "Fluid" and "Light" textures.
Our experts' tips for combating dehydration
Foaming cleansers strip the surface of your skin of its lipids and accelerate dehydration. Replace them with a cleansing oil that will respect the integrity of your skin's hydrolipidic film.
Your skin's needs change throughout the day. During the day, it needs protection; at night, it regenerates. Follow its natural rhythm by offering it complementary formulas with a customized night cream.
