The formulation charter
Laboté has a strict formulation charter to create the most effective products, safe for the skin, well tolerated by even sensitive skin and with a low environmental impact.
Scientifically proven, natural and organic ingredients
We prioritize cosmeceutical ingredients whose efficacy is scientifically proven. Active ingredients with objective efficacy fall into this category. Laboté relies on scientific research to select the active ingredients in its skincare products: AHAs, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, peptides, retinol, allantoin…
- We incorporate at least one natural plant extract, and achieve a minimum of 95% naturally derived ingredients.
- For all vegetable oils, we prefer those from organic farming
- We do not use any ingredients of animal origin in our cosmetics
Products that are safe for the skin and well-tolerated by even the most sensitive skin.
- We favour synthetic perfumes which have fewer allergens than natural perfumes based on essential oils.
- We limit the number of allergens to a maximum of 6 from the list of 82 allergens.
- We do not use any listed preservatives: this helps to avoid the accumulation of preservatives in the body.
- We avoid, as much as possible, products labeled H317 for sensitive skin
- We do not use any raw materials that are subject to debate by the authorities, even before they are banned. If any doubt arises about an ingredient, we remove it from our laboratory.
- We do not use any endocrine disruptors (Phthalates, Toluene…)
We do not use any sulfated surfactants because they can be irritating depending on their dosage.
We do not use any comedogenic ingredients in our products for blemish-prone skin.
The lowest possible environmental impact, constantly improving
- 80% of the formulas are made using a cold process. Beyond preserving the active ingredients, this reduces the energy consumed to produce a cream.
- All stages of production, right up to in-store sales, take place at the same location in Paris. For online sales, there are no intermediary delivery platforms. This significantly reduces the environmental impact of transporting the formulas and products.
- We do not use any silicone, which is harmful to the environment.
- We do not use any ethoxylated molecules (PEG, -eth), the manufacturing of which is not environmentally friendly.
- We do not use any raw materials that fall under the category of microplastics.
We prioritize glass packaging over plastic. Today, 100% of Laboté's packaging is glass (with the exception of the collagen food supplement).
- If the packaging cannot be made of glass, we choose recycled or recyclable glass.
- We are reducing the use of cardboard. In July 2024, for example, we removed the boxes from 7 product references.
- Continuing to reduce the environmental impact of our products is a priority for the coming years; it is an ongoing process for us to improve.
