Red pimples, whiteheads, blackheads: how to treat them?
Red or whiteheads, blackheads, milia, papules, pustules... Facial blemishes can be a real nuisance. But there's a solution for every imperfection: our experts have selected the best cosmetic active ingredients for you.
Whiteheads: microcysts, closed comedones
WHAT IS A WHITE DOT?
The facial pimples known as "whiteheads" are closed comedones (or microcysts). These small pimples appear when the sebum secreted by the sebaceous glands can no longer flow normally due to an excessive proliferation of cells (keratinocytes) on the surface.
This excess of lipids and keratin eventually accumulates in the hair follicle, causing dilation of the pilosebaceous canal and the sebaceous gland. After a few months, this gives rise to a tiny "sac" of impurities, resulting in a grainy-looking skin.
WHAT ARE THE SOLUTIONS FOR WHITE SPOTS?
Prevent hyperkeratinization once a week with an enzymatic exfoliation. Formulated with hibiscus flower acid, our peel gently removes dead skin cells.
If a whitehead has developed, apply our targeted purifying treatment locally. Its concentration of tea tree essential oil helps to quickly eliminate blemishes.
Blackheads or open comedones
HOW TO RECOGNIZE A BLACKHEAD?
A blackhead is the most benign type of facial pimple. It is an open comedo. In other words, it is simply a closed comedo that has managed to force its way through the excretory canal: instead of being under your skin, it is on the surface.
Typical of oily skin, it appears when a skin pore is clogged with sebum and dead skin cells. You'll easily recognize it by its grayish color. This color is due to the oxidation of lipids upon contact with air, as well as their melanin content.
HOW TO GET RID OF BLACKHEADS?
Opt for non-comedogenic moisturizing products. In the morning, the purifying emulsified gel day cream with wild pansy helps reduce sebum production.
Apply the purifying green clay mask once or twice a week. The clay unclogs pores and supports skin detoxification.
Turn to astringent skincare to tighten your enlarged pores. Our experts recommend the Purifying Hydrosol Toner . Use it in the morning to awaken your skin and in the evening to prepare it for further treatments.

The red pimple on the face: the papule
WHAT CAUSES THE PAPULA?
If you can't resist the urge to touch and squeeze your blackheads, they may turn into small red bumps on your face: papules. This development is due to the action of the bacteria involved in acne: Propionibacterium acnes.
The resulting inflammation forms a lump under the skin, which may be hard and painful to the touch. If left untreated, it can develop into a nodule. In women, the appearance of this type of red pimple on the face is often linked to hormones (menstruation, pregnancy acne).
WHAT SKINCARE ROUTINE SHOULD I ADOPT AGAINST RED SPOTS?
Don't touch your papules. This is essential to prevent infection. Your facial pimples will eventually dry out and disappear on their own after a few days without leaving scars.
To speed up the process, incorporate anti-inflammatory active ingredients into your skincare routine. Our targeted blemish treatment contains petitgrain bigarade, which helps reduce puffiness and diminish redness. Enhance the effectiveness of your routine with a soothing serum.
The whitehead on the face: the pustule
DEFINITION OF A PUSTULE
A pustule is a characteristic lesion of acne-prone skin. In reality, it is simply a more severe form of a papule. As its name suggests, it is distinguished from the latter by the presence of a white head filled with pus.
Although unsightly, pustule-type facial pimples are nonetheless fragile imperfections. They should be handled very gently to avoid any complications.
HOW TO TREAT A PUSTULE?
Never pop a whitehead on your face. You risk worsening the inflammation and leaving a scar. Not to mention the bacteria released, which would then have free rein to colonize your pores...
Avoid all abrasive facial cleansers. Opt instead for a cleansing oil with purifying green tea, such as an emulsifying makeup-removing oil . Very gentle, it dissolves impurities while combating excess sebum production. Remember that acne is a skin condition in its own right. If your facial breakouts persist and become too severe, consult a dermatologist.
