Eczema, a characteristic of atopic skin
Atopic skin, or more precisely, skin prone to atopic dermatitis, presents as a chronic dermatosis (skin inflammation), the frequency of which intensifies over the years. Atopic dermatitis is characterized in particular by very dry and sensitive skin, especially reactive to irritants. The compromised skin barrier allows allergens found in the air, cosmetics, or food to penetrate more easily. Finally, the condition can also be exacerbated by skincare habits: overly frequent cleansing will further dry out the skin, as will the use of harsh products that disrupt the skin's ecosystem.
The clinical signs of skin experiencing an eczema flare-up are as follows:
- Erythema (redness) related to vasodilation
- Itching
- Localized edema
- Weeping vesicles
- Scales
- Crusts
- Excoriations (small abrasions)
This is a type of skin that often feels tight and requires the application of a cream at least twice a day.
THE SHININGS
Atopic skin can also exhibit a reactive shine. This is primarily caused by an overly aggressive skincare routine that strips away the skin's protective hydrolipidic film. When skin is irritated by a harsh product, it overproduces sebum to restore its protective barrier (a self-defense mechanism). However, the more sebum it produces, the more prone your skin will be to shine.
IMPERFECTIONS
They can occur due to this overproduction of sebum, which tends to clog the skin's pores. Blemishes can also be linked to stress or hormonal imbalances.

TIP #1: CLEANING, THE FIRST ESSENTIAL STEP IN CARE
Your skin's protective film is an emulsion: it consists of an oily phase (sebum and various lipids) and an aqueous phase (sweat, water, and microorganisms). This film prevents the penetration of foreign substances and regulates your skin's hydration and flora. The hydrolipidic film gives your skin its softness, suppleness, and radiance. It is therefore essential to preserve it with gentle cleansing. If cleansing is too harsh or even stripping, the skin barrier will be damaged.
The expertly formulated cosmetic preparation of this cleansing oil is described as biomimetic: its oily texture, applied to the skin, removes all substances that have an affinity for oils, such as makeup and pollution. Its texture transforms into a milk after the addition of a little water, trapping substances that have an affinity for water: sweat and skin metabolites. This allows for a gentle double cleansing. Its formula is rich in active ingredients from medicinal plants, such as Cornflower, known for its soothing properties, and Green Tea, prized for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits.
TIP #2: DAILY CARE, A LONG-TERM ACTION, DAY AND NIGHT
You need a formula that simultaneously targets all your biological needs. For your skin, our Doctors of Pharmacy recommend a creamy texture that will soothe redness thanks to Calendula. Blemishes and scars will be targeted by Bakuchiol, and nourishment will comellia oil. When necessary, our Doctors of Pharmacy add Acmella, a plant-based Botox to prevent signs of aging and skin aging, in combination with Centella Asiatica to boost fiber synthesis, renew the skin, and diminish scars.
Your custom-made night cream will be rich in Fucus and Nigella for a regenerating and purifying effect. The complementary action of these two day and night treatments is essential, as it allows the purifying active ingredients to be gradually released without irritating the skin.
TIP #3: TARGETED TREATMENT TO QUICKLY CORRECT IMPERFECTIONS
This unique treatment is composed of two plant oils, Nigella and Jojoba, with purifying and sebum-regulating properties, and four essential oils whose synergistic action reduces skin impurities: Tea Tree, Lavender, Petitgrain Bigarade, and Rosemary. Their properties allow them to act on all stages of a blemish's life cycle. For atopic skin, we advise against allergens. However, for targeted treatment, application is localized and for a limited time (only during the duration of the rash and not exceeding 3 weeks). This allows for better control of skin tolerance.
TIP #4: THE RIGHT MAKEUP TECHNIQUES
Finding the right foundation can be tricky, especially for dry, sensitive, and blemish-prone skin. Blemishes often occur when pores are clogged with excess sebum, but also when using comedogenic products. Liquid foundations frequently contain comedogenic molecules. That's why our Doctors of Pharmacy recommend loose mineral powder foundations. Their composition is often natural, with SPF protection to prevent the effects of free radicals on the skin, and they allow the skin to breathe without clogging pores. This helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and shine.
